Are you a researcher passionate about safe and healthy animal feed and committed to ensuring it remains that way? Do you want to contribute to the goal of guaranteeing food safety in the Netherlands? If so, we have an exciting job opportunity for you as an Animal Feed Researcher at Wageningen Food Safety Research (WFSR), a research institute of Wageningen University & Research.

What Will You Do?
You will work within the agro-chains team, executing assignments both within and outside WFSR. As an animal feed researcher, you will contribute to various projects focused on maintaining safe feed with attention to:
  • circular developments in agriculture and the broader society;
  • utilizing different by-products and residual streams for feed;
  • developments in legislation for safe feed;
  • monitoring the safety of animal feed through accredited analyses.

Additionally, you will stay informed about European and national developments in the field of feed.

You will work within the agro-chains team, consisting of 23 colleagues, where you will be partly responsible for researching the safety of feed throughout the entire feed chain. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality products on time in collaboration with the project leader.

This includes processing and analyzing data, writing reports, and articles. In this role, you will also collaborate with other stakeholders within and outside WUR.

You will work with people both inside and outside your team, as well as experts in various adjacent fields of feed such as veterinary drugs, contaminants, and microbiology.

Requirements

You have:
  • an MSc in a relevant field, supplemented with work experience in feed or animal feed legislation;
  • proficiency in both Dutch and English at C1 level, and you can write reports in these languages;
  • creativity. You come up with solutions that others might not think of in our research;
  • analytical thinking skills. You can interpret data and translate it into reports and graphical representations.

Additionally, you are an initiative-taking colleague. You can take the lead in planning and engage your colleagues with a good and pleasant communication style. Experience working in an ISO17025 environment is a plus.

In our international working environment, communication is increasingly in English. For this position, a language level C1 is required. If you do not yet have this level, we will naturally assist you, and you can turn to our language center, Wageningen in’to Language.

Depending on your experience, we offer a competitive gross salary of between €3088,-. and €5737,-. for a full-time working week of 36 hours, in accordance with the CLA Wageningen Research (scale 10/11). Additionally, a contract for 32 hours can be discussed. Initially, we offer you a two-year contract, which will then be extended to an open-ended contract if there is mutual enthusiasm.
