Job description

Your job as a Lacrosse trainer involves training the men's team. On Thursdays, you will provide training sessions for students from 17:15 to 19:00 on the outdoor fields of Sports Centre de Bongerd. You are dedicated to the student lacrosse association Wageningen Warriors, which has about 60 members, ranging from beginners to advanced.

In addition to your regular training courses, you will also participate in teacher meetings, refresher training activities, We-Day, AID and/or staff outings, which take place a few times a year outside your normal working hours.

You are an active, initiating person, in which the competencies of customer focus, cooperation, sociability, coaching, flexibility and enthusiasm play an important role.
You also have/are:
  1. A driven, ambitious trainer who shows clear leadership and has an eye for the interests of the association;
  2. A trainer who is 'above the group' but also dares to be 'in between' if possible / necessary and is part of the social hour after a match or training;
  3. Being able to deal with the target group 'student' in a relaxed way;
  4. A trainer who pays attention to the advancement of existing members and the integration of new students;
  5. Someone who fits within the current club culture and has knowledge of and can deal with different cultural backgrounds;
  6. You can function independently and proactively;
  7. You have a good command of the Dutch and English language;
  8. You have experience in training adults (advantage).

This is where you're going to work
The Sports Centre de Bongerd (SCB) of Wageningen University & Research (WUR) is responsible for the sports programme for students and staff of WUR. A total of 6500 students and 900 employees actively use the sports centre, which consists of 45 specialised sports teachers, 9 management and administration staff. The CPC has an initiating and active role in the implementation of the health programme Vital@work.

The sports centre is located on the edge of the campus and is the base for the various student sports associations. Due to the large number of international students and staff, the language of instruction on campus is largely English.

In addition to these first-rate employee benefits, you will of course receive a good salary. Depending on your experience, we offer a competitive gross salary of between €3.072,- and €4.103,- for a full-time working week of 38 hours, in accordance with the Collective Labour Agreements for Dutch Universities (CAO-NU) (scale 8). This is a temporary appointment for an initial period of 12 months
(1 September 2024 to 31 August 2025). An extension to a permanent contract of 2 teaching hours per week is possible.
