Job description

As a communication advisor for the SynCellEU agency you work in an inspiring, dynamic and international environment. You work independently in close cooperation with the program manager. In this varied job you are responsible for the development, supervision and implementation of the internal and external communication around this initiative. You are involved in assessing the communication need, you provide solicited and unsolicited advice on communication, you translate the advice into a concrete plan and you take care of its implementation.

You have a hands-on mentality and a creative mind. You can work with various digital systems and propose developments and improvements where necessary. You have knowledge of - and a vision on - digital communication and current trends in the field, and you are experienced in the use of social media.

In order to be able to do your job well, you work together with colleagues at different levels in the organization and at the same time you make sure you stay informed within the Synthetic Cell community.

Requirements

  • You have at least a completed HBO communication or similar or a bachelor's degree in communication. A master's degree is a plus.
  • You are an independent and proactive thinker and doer (from strategy to execution) who always has an overview and can switch quickly between different activities.
  • You are able to identify the needs in terms of communication and branding, to translate them into a joint vision and strategy and to win support for it.
  • You are at ease in an international environment and can establish and maintain contacts.
  • You have experience in communication in various forms, both offline (including events, meetings) and online (e.g. website, videos, and social media).
  • You can work with WordPress and Mailchimp.
  • You have experience in organizing (online) events.
  • You have an excellent command of the English language, both written and spoken, and at least a good command of the Dutch language.

Conditions of employment

Fixed-term contract: 5 months.

  • Temporary appointment for 8 hours per week, from 1 July to 30 November 2024.
  • A salary based on scale 10 of the CAO for Dutch Universities with a minimum of € 3.226,00 and a maximum of € 5.090,00 gross per month based on a fulltime contract (38 hours), plus 8% holiday allowance and an end-of-year bonus of 8.3%.
