Job Description
UM SPORT is looking for an enthusiastic and driven (assistent)badminton trainer for the student badminton club HEEP. As a badminton trainer, you will be responsible, together with the head coach, for leading a weekly training session for this enthusiastic club. The training takes place on Tuesday evenings and is open to everyone who enjoys playing badminton. Along with your head coach, you will ensure a stimulating and inclusive training environment for students of various levels, offering a varied and challenging training program.

Job Requirements
We expect the following from our new badminton trainer:
  • Proven experience in providing badminton training
  • Preferably in possession of a badminton coaching certificate
  • Ability to teach in both English and Dutch
  • Affinity with student sports and the associated culture
  • Availability to give training sessions in the evening hours

What we offer
As a badminton trainer at the Student Service Center, you will be employed by the most international university in the Netherlands. We offer you:
  • Good employment conditions. The position is classified in scale 7 according to the UFO profile sports instructor level 4 or 3 with corresponding salary classification based on experience between €2,693 and €4,103 gross per month (based on a full-time employment of 38 hours per week). In addition to the monthly salary, an 8,0% holiday allowance and an 8,3% year-end bonus apply.
  • An employment contract for a period of 12 months with a scope of 0,06 FTE.
  • At Maastricht University, the well-being of our employees is of utmost importance, we offer flexible working hours and the possibility to work partly from home if the nature of your position allows it. You will receive a monthly commuting and internet allowance for this. If you work full-time, you will be entitled to 29 vacation days and 4 additional public holidays per year, namely carnival Monday, carnival Tuesday, Good Friday, and Liberation Day. If you choose to accumulate compensation hours, an additional 12 days will be added. Furthermore, you can personalize your employment conditions through a collective labor agreement (CAO) choice model.

Working at Student Services Centre
The Student Services Centre (SSC) is the central contact point for all student services and helps students with a variety of issues related to studying and student life. For example, the SSC provides students with information on admission, registration, tuition fees and diploma recognition, but they can also go there for legal advice on study-related matters, career advice, a language course or help from a psychologist. In addition, the SSC offers all kinds of extracurricular activities such as a broad sports offer at the University Sports Centre, volunteering opportunities or lectures and workshops through Studium Generale. This way, the SSC offers students the opportunity to develop and enrich themselves in other areas besides their studies so that they can enter the job market with a broad-based knowledge, skills and competencies.

The direct contact with students and the variety of services, make the SSC a dynamic working environment. The SSC structurally cooperates extensively with faculties, other services centres within UM, students and external partners to support the student in the best possible way. UM SPORT
The UM SPORT department of the Student Service Center (SSC) at our Maastricht University organizes the sports program for students, staff, and alumni of Maastricht University and for students of Zuyd University of Applied Sciences. Through a varied sports offering of more than 60 different activities, 31 Student Sports Clubs, fun events, and student-friendly prices, a healthy and enjoyable sports experience is provided, with something for everyone. The international character of Maastricht University is also strongly present at UM SPORT, both among its members and its staff. Activities are mainly offered bilingually (in Dutch and English) so that they are accessible to everyone. The UM SPORT team consists of more than 120 employees: sports instructors, instructors, reception staff, and department team. Many of the employees are or were students at Maastricht University and all share a love for sport and exercise.

HEEP
HEEP is the student badminton club of Maastricht! We are an international student association with various levels of badminton experience.
