Job description

Are you a proactive management and office assistant, and an administrative allrounder? Are you fluent in Dutch and English? Do you maintain an overview and serve as a communicatively adept point of contact for both colleagues and external contacts? Then we are looking for you!

For two teams at Wageningen Environmental Research (WENR), the Earth Observation and Environmental Informatics team and the Sustainable Soil Management team, we are seeking an independent management and office assistant who provides administrative support to both teams. This position is for 0.5 FTE.

You are accurate, good at setting priorities, and have a friendly yet firm personality. You take initiative, can handle a variety of tasks, and are adept at monitoring and anticipating the processes within a secretariat. As a management and office assistant, you will work not only for the management of the teams but also support the entire team where needed.

Your tasks as a management and office assistant include:
  • Correspondence & agenda management,
  • Preparing and organizing meetings,
  • Booking travel and placing orders. You will also perform control tasks related to finances, including contract routing.
  • Maintaining contact between Finance, HRM, and the research teams, and acting proactively in these areas.
  • Internally guiding quotation and contract processes. Additionally, directly project-related (non-financial) tasks may be part of your contribution upon request by project leaders.
  • Supporting the opening of vacancies and recruitment of personnel.

Requirements

  • Administrative or secretarial education at secondary vocational education level or another relevant qualification
  • Good knowledge of Dutch (B2) and English (B2), and experience with MS Office packages
  • Able to work independently but also a team player who is customer and service-oriented
  • A friendly and firm personality
  • Extensive relevant work experience

The work is approximately 50/50 divided between the two teams.

We offer, depending on your experience, a competitive gross salary of between €2.388,- and €3.245,- for a full-time working week of 36 hours, in accordance with the CLA Wageningen Research (scale 6). You will initially receive a one-year contract, which will be extended to an open-ended contract upon in mutual enthusiasm.
