Job description

You will be responsible for teaching in the Law School’s Department of International and European Law. You will be teaching both in Bachelor courses covering European (economic) Law and within the Law & Economics Master programme. This programme focuses (European) on economic law and regulation. Knowledge of theories and/or practice of supervision and regulation by market authorities, or a willingness to acquire that knowledge quickly, is required. A Law & Economics background would be useful. You will also supervise Bachelor and Master theses, and may be assigned coordination and tutoring tasks. Though the emphasis will be on teaching, research is possible (preferably within the Department’s research programmes).

Requirements

We are looking for a lawyer with sound knowledge of European Law and European economic law, preferably with an emphasis on Regulation and Supervision, who meets the following requirements:

  • you have experience and strong teaching skills in academic teaching so as to be able to lecture in courses on European law and European economic law;
  • you are highly organized and have strong interpersonal skills;
  • you have a PhD in Law at the start of your appointment;
  • you have an excellent command of written and spoken English;
  • you are proficient in Dutch, or willing to learn Dutch as a professional working language.

Conditions of employment

We offer a temporary position for a duration of two years. Preferred starting date is 15 August. Salary ranges between €3,475 and €5,405 (scale 11-12 Collective Labour Agreement Dutch Universities) gross per month for a full-time employment. Salaries are supplemented with a holiday bonus of 8 % and a year-end bonus of 8.3 % per year.
