The group Technology, Innovation and Society (TIS) of the School of Innovation Sciences is seeking applications for a lecturer (Docent) position in the field of Sustainable Innovation and Transitions. In this position you will be part of our teaching team engaged with our ongoing teaching activities (mainly) within our own Bachelor program and other courses offered at TU/e level.

Our own Bachelor program, titled 'Sustainable Innovation', is based on a multidisciplinary approach and includes technology, economics, and transition studies/STS related courses. Your tasks will be mainly related to transition studies/STS related teaching as well as group-projects and thesis supervision.

Besides being involved in our own Bachelor program you will also teach courses offered at the broader, university-wide level. In particular, you will contribute to the TU/e Bachelor Program, which includes students of a variety of different backgrounds. Your teaching contribution here will also be related to Transition Studies/STS related thinking.

The position offers a great opportunity for candidates with teaching experience and/or who would like to gain teaching experience in a dynamic, innovative teaching environment.

We are looking for a candidate who is a team-player with a passion for teaching and ideas for teaching students (with different backgrounds) in an innovative, interactive way.

The candidate has: 

A master's degree in Innovation Studies/Transition Studies / Science and Technology Studies or in another relevant Social Science field; a PhD is preferred.

Domain knowledge of sustainable energy technology and/or sustainable mobility is highly recommended

Good teaching skills, as evidenced by teaching experience and good course evaluations.

Excellent command of English (written/verbal)

A gross monthly salary of a Lecturer between € 2,588 and € 4,084 (based on a full-time appointment), depending on experience and knowledge.

A yearly holiday allowance of 8% of the yearly salary;
