Job description

We are looking for and enthusiastic student who wants to engage in a 4 year trajectory as a PhD candidate in our Laboratory of BioNanoTechnology. Open mind and creative thinking are prerequisites to step into this multidisciplinary research project that concerns the design and fabrication of innovative NMR probes with integrated microcoil antennas that will be exploited for the characterization of minor components in bulk processes. The project is part of a bigger COAST-funded project and runs in parallel with one at the Leiden University and extensive collaboration is expected to result in hyphenating the devices constructed in the different sites. The project is focussed on technology development and comprises extensive collaboration with industrial partners and a user committee.

Requirements

For this position we request an MSc degree in Chemistry or Chemical Technology, or physics or engineering if appropriate background education in chemistry and/or NMR spectroscopy.

Conditions of employment

We offer you a temporary position for a period of 1.5 years with extension of 2.5 years after successful evaluation. Gross salary per month €2.222,- in the first year rising up to €2.840,- per month in the fourth year.

We not only offer a competitive salary but also good (study) leave and a pension of the ABP Pension Fund.
