Job description

In this project you will develop polymeric membranes with an ultrahigh density of uniform, nanometre sized pores. These membranes are formed by polymerization of columnar liquid crystals followed by the removal of template molecules to give cylindrical pores. The membranes have important applications for the separation of small molecules and ions. Their performance as separation membranes will be studied in close collaboration with the group of prof. Kitty Nijmeijer in Eindhoven. Previous work: DOI:10.1021/acs.macromol.7b00013.
