The Institute of Physics (IoP) of the Faculty of Science has a two-year postdoctoral position is available at the Institute for Theoretical Physics of the University of Amsterdam, in the group of prof. J.-S. Caux, starting in September 2018.

This position is part of an ongoing initiative aiming to develop nonperturbative methods for in- and out-of-equilibrium systems in low dimensions, in the context of quantum magnetism, cold atoms and nanoscale solid-state systems. Exceptional candidates with a PhD in theoretical physics and a strong background in integrability and the Bethe Ansatz, field theory, bosonization and numerical methods are particularly encouraged to apply.

• PhD degree in Theoretical Physics;
• the ability to work independently as well as in a team;
• good communication skills (English).

The full-time appointment will be on a temporary basis for a period of two years. The monthly gross salary will range between €3,111 and €4,084 (scale 10 according to the Collective Employment Agreement of the Dutch Universities) based on a full-time appointment. We offer a pension scheme, a holiday allowance of 8% per year, an end-of-year bonus of 8.3% and flexible employment conditions. Conditions are based on the Collective Labour Agreement for Dutch Universities. Favourable tax agreements may apply to non-Dutch applicants.
