Job description

We are looking for
A team member of the Portfolio Support Group (PSG) to provide support services for the implementation of our international portfolio of projects and short professional courses.

You will join Wageningen Centre for Development Innovation, our motto is 'Knowledge in Action'; we support organisations and people to strengthen their capacity for sustainable development.

The selected candidate will provide support services to the implementation of international projects, mainly in Africa and Asia, and support capacity development activities, among which short professional courses, implemented in The Netherlands and abroad. The selected candidate will be a member of the Portfolio Support Group; a small team that is responsible for secretarial and administrative, organisational and logistic support for the activities of our institute. Your activities will mainly consist of the administrative and logistical organisation of international short courses and other events such as seminars and conferences and study tours/visits and for the support to international projects. You will collaborate with the project leader of the course or event or international project, who is responsible for the content. The administrative and logistical support services entail among others establishing contacts with foreseen international visitors and/or course participants, booking of international flight tickets, arranging visa, making reservations/bookings for hotel accommodation and course/conference facilities, logistical support for the course/event implementation (course materials, field trips, social events), and secretarial and administrative support to project, including also lay-out/editing of documents and reports, note taking for meetings, etc.

As you will work in a team, good communication and collaboration skills in support of good team spirit is a prerequisite. In view of the international character of our activities, excellent spoken and written English is a prerequisite.

Requirements

We ask
  • MBO or HBO level of education or equal level of professional performance obtained through relevantwork-experience;
  • Excellent computer skills (e.g. MS Office) and ability to learn other programmes used within our organisation;
  • Ability to set priorities and perform adequately under high work and peer pressure;
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative and responsibility;
  • Good communication and organisational skills and a service and quality oriented approach;
  • Key competencies are;accuracy, confidentiality and discretion, tact, self-steered and solution oriented;
  • A dynamic and balanced team player;
  • Interest in working in a dynamic, highly-motivated international environment with other people committed to having an impact in other regions of the world;
  • Excellent spoken and written Dutch and English; mastering of English at a minimum of CEFR C1 level is essential. language page;
  • Mastering of the French language is anasset;
  • Willingness to work outside office hours if the job sodemands.

Conditions of employment

We offer
We offer a temporary full-time employment with an average working week of 36 hours spread over 5 days per week, salary up to a max of € 2675 (Salary scale 6, Wageningen Research Collective Labour Agreement) gross per month for a full working week for one year. We offer you good secondary employment conditions, like arrangements for leave, education, personal development, and a pension with the ABP Pension Fund..
