Reporting to EIT Digital’s Netherlands Director, the Innovation Space Manager has overall responsibility for all activities, including administrative/financial aspects. S/he will be supporting all events and activities such as the Innovation and Education Call activities, Innovation and Accelerator Activities, and Education Activities in a collaborative manner with the EIT Digital Node in Eindhoven and in close alignment with colleagues across Europe.
Main responsibilities include building a network in the AMA and taking the lead in developing the programme of activities in innovation, launching an Industrial Doctorates Programme in Digital Finance in co-operation with CWI and universities. The Manager will strengthen connections with CWI wherever relevant.
The candidate is a postgraduate with STEM education, preferably with Computer Science specialization, with a minimum of five+ year experience in innovative technical or business positions. Work experience across organisations and / or work experience in an international organization is a plus. Also required is a sound understanding of administrative and financial processes, experience of coordinating with internal and external stakeholders, and experience in events planning, organization and execution. We also look for aptitude in problem-solving and a hands-on with entrepreneurial mind-set. You are fluent in Dutch and English with excellent verbal and written communication skills. You will be based at CWI in Amsterdam but will also be traveling to Eindhoven and the other European Co-Location Centres.
The terms of employment are in accordance with the Dutch Collective Labour Agreement for Research Centres ("CAO-onderzoeksinstellingen"). The appointment will be for a period of one year, extension with a further two years is possible, depending on achievements. The gross monthly salary on a full time basis ranges from € 3,525,- to € 5,512,- (salary scales 11/12) depending on relevant work experience. Employees are also entitled to a holiday allowance of 8% of the gross annual salary and a year-end bonus of 8,33%. CWI offers attractive working conditions. About EIT Digital Innovation Space Amsterdam
The EIT Digital Innovation Space Amsterdam opened in November 2017 to connect industry, universities, research institutes and public organisations in the Amsterdam Metropolitan Area (AMA) with the EIT Digital network. Two of the priorities are expanding the network of scale-up companies in the AMA and launching educational activities, starting with an Industrial Doctorates Programme in Digital Finance. The Innovation Space is hosted by national research institute Centrum Wiskunde & Informatica (CWI) at Amsterdam Science Park. CWI supports the Innovation Space by employing the manager and by providing facilities. Within CWI the position falls under the Manager R&D.
