The Department of Psychology, Education & Child Studies at the Erasmus University Rotterdam invites applications for an Assistant Professor position in our Clinical Psychology programme.

The principle responsibilities of the Assistant Professor will be to contribute to our Clinical & Health Psychology research program and to contribute to our educational  program within the Department of Psychology, Education & Child Studies (Section Clinical Psychology).

Requirements

The successful candidate should

  • Hold a PhD-degree in a relevant area; candidates with a background in neuropsychology and/or experimental psychopathology are particularly encouraged to respond;

  • Have a substantial national and international network in this area;

  • Have a strong, internationally competitive academic record and show evidence of a productive research trajectory;

  • Be successful in the acquisition of research funding;

  • Have a record of excellence in teaching, and have well developed communication skills.

Fixed-term contract: We offer an appointment for 5 years.

Department

The Department of Psychology, Education & Child Studies provides education and research in the area of psychological sciences and is embedded within the Erasmus School of Social and Behavioural Sciences. The education is characterized by a successful and innovative didactical approach: problem based learning in combination with extensive professional and academic skills training. Our bachelor and master tracks receive top rankings each year. The Department of Clinical Psychology consists of four research groups with separate, but inter-connected research agendas: The Experimental Psychopathology group, the Developmental Psychopathology group, the Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy group, and the Health Psychology group. Together, these four groups are committed to a “From Lab to Society” research idea, which aims at a strong mutual connection between basic experimental research and clinical practice and health promotion.
