If you can innovatively and effectively communicate how we are fulfilling our mission, then you might be our new communications specialist at Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University (RSM). You’ll need to be proactive and on-the-ball at producing and pitching news – with a real journalistic approach. You’ll always be on the lookout for news and cases that sustain RSM’s mission to be a force for positive change in the world on- and off-campus, and with a great feeling for rendering our news in engaging stories, videos, and images, using every channel of communication. You can act fast while keeping our prime communication objectives in mind at all times. You have a creative vision for communicating our mission, and you can generate ideas and initiatives to further build engagement with our stakeholders in line with our mission.
Key responsibilities comprise:
Proven experience in journalistic function with media, or as a corporate reporter
Proven experience with video: scripting, pre-production and production, directing, and collaborating with video professionals such as camera operators, editors and animators
Understanding of PR, social media and creating appropriate exposure
Excellent written and spoken English and Dutch for internal and external communications (C1)
Affinity with academics and the academic world
Knowledge of business trends
Experience with publishing online content in CMS
Extensive media network, or the ability to quickly connect with journalists and build a network

The salary range for this specific position is € 3,545 – € 4,852 (scale 11 CAO VSNU, based on full-time employment). Ranking will be based on education and working experience. EUR has attractive employment conditions, which include a holiday allowance of 8 per cent, an end-of-year bonus of 8.3 per cent, and a generous number of vacation days.
