The Department of Thermal and Fluid Engineering at the University of Twente is currently seeking for an assistant professor in the areas of advanced energy materials. We are concerned with questions related to advanced applications of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, reactions, heat and mass transport and energy storage. Using a combined approach of theoretical analysis, numerical calculations and experimental investigations, the department aims to develop new and advanced knowledge for applications in industry and the built environment. Priority is given to the efficient use of energy and the minimization of environmental impact of our future energy systems.
THE CHALLENGE
New materials are crucial for efficient heat conversion and storage systems. The application of such new composite materials with improved thermal properties requires advanced processing (fabrication, synthesizing, upscaling) and high resolution characterization techniques. The mainly experimental research will focus on characterization and fabrication of these new advanced energy materials by investigating the physical-chemistry of materials in order to improve the properties for thermal conversion and storage applications and to provide data for mathematical modelling.
Are you up for the challenge to improve the world with your research as well as teaching on this state of the art technology?
