The Institute of Public Administration at Leiden University is looking for Three Assistant Professor of Public Administration and one Assistant Professor of Public Administration with a focus on Artificial Intelligence (AI)

Functieomschrijving

  • Have a doctorate in public administration, political science, organizational sciences, sociology, economics or any other relevant field in the social sciences, with a research agenda that fits one of the research themes described above;
  • Have demonstrable experience or affinity with interdisciplinary education and / or research;
  • Have publications in national and international scientific journals or demonstrable potential to realize them;
  • Have excellent educational qualities or who can develop and are open to innovative and activating teaching methods;
  • Are team players and can work well with other teachers, who are partly employed at other institutes and faculties;
  • Are able to work together with partners within the public sector (local, national or international) and who can develop and maintain good external networks for this purpose;
  • Are in possession of the basic teaching qualification (bko) or are prepared to obtain this qualification within two years;
  • Have excellent verbal and written communication skills, in both Dutch and English, or are prepared to have sufficient command of dutch for professional purposes within the foreseeable future (language level c1), whereby after 1 year there is a command for general purposes (language level a2).

  • Je bent vanaf januari 2021 inzetbaar zowel voor online onderwijs als onderwijs op locatie in Den Haag voor diverse vakken;
  • Je beschikt over goede studieresultaten en minimaal een (bijna) afgeronde master Public Administration of vergelijkbare discipline;
  • Je beschikt over uitstekende schrijfvaardigheden in de Nederlandse taal en goede presentatievaardigheden;
  • Je hebt affiniteit met les geven en bent bereid ook mee te denken over en te werken aan verbetering en vernieuwing van het onderwijs;
  • Je bent proactief en kunt goed omgaan met deadlines en werken onder druk;
  • Je hebt de vaardigheden om te werken in teamverband en je stelt je collegiaal op;
  • De vaardigheid om les te geven in het Engels en/of in Statistiek is een pré. 

Arbeidsvoorwaarden

We would prefer you to start as soon as possible. The appointment will be under the terms of the Collective Labour Agreement (CAO) of Dutch Universities. You will be appointed for two years. Depending upon funding and performance, the position can be extended to a permanent position. The salary varies, depending on qualifications and experience, from €3,746.- to  €5,127.- gross per month based on full-time employment (scale 11 for Assistant professor).
