Within a multidisciplinary team we develop new MRI techniques to understand cerebral physiology as well as to detect early signs of neurodegenerative diseases. In this project we want to identify subtle damage to the blood-brain-barrier by monitoring the transport of water as it crosses from the blood vessels into brain tissue. At the moment, it is unclear which compartments the water enters as it leaves the vasculature. In collaboration with fundamental researchers from Amsterdam UMC, you will study this process and learn how this can be applied to clinical research and care. Will you join our team?
· You have completed a Master's degree in a technical or biomedical technology field;
· Previous experience with MRI is a plus, but not necessary;
· You are enthusiastic, curious and have an excellent team spirit;
· Lastly, you have excellent programming skills
Fixed-term contract: 4 years.
You will be given an employment contract for the production of a PhD thesis for the duration of the program with a maximum of four years. The salary amounts to € 2,789 gross per month in the first year, up to a maximum of € 3,536 in the last year with fulltime employment (scale Pro, CLA UMC).
