Wat ga je doen?
The Utrecht University School of Economics (U.S.E.) invites applications for a Lecturer in Economics. The Lecturer will join the Economics Section of the Department. Lecturers are expected to teach courses in various areas in applied economics at undergraduate and/or graduate level, including elective courses in labour economics and inequality, and to supervise theses. All teaching is in English. A part-time appointment is possible for candidates who wish to combine a teaching position at U.S.E. with a position at a different institution. The preferred starting date is August/September 2024 (negotiable) and under the condition of a valid EU working permit.

Qualifications

Successful candidates:
  • Have or are close to completing a PhD in Economics
  • Demonstrate a clear potential for excellence in teaching different economics courses at both undergraduate and graduate level.
  • Have an excellent command of spoken and written English.
  • Are in possession of a University Teaching Qualification or willing to obtain such a qualification.

Arbeidsvoorwaarden

We offer:
  • A fixed-term appointment as Lecturer for up to 4 years
  • 10% of the contract development time is for research and/or improvement of one’s teaching
  • A full-time gross salary between €4.332,- and €5.929,- (scale 11 according to the Collective Labor Agreement Dutch Universities) per month for a full-time employment
  • 8% holiday bonus and 8.3% end-of-year bonus;
  • A pension scheme, partially paid parental leave, and flexible employment conditions based on the Collective Labour Agreement (CAO) Dutch Universities.
